a Gold Hope Project session – meet Harper

I am so grateful for organizations like The Gold Hope Project.

TGHP provides free portrait sessions for pediatric cancer patients, and through their hard work make it easy for photographers like me to volunteer and give back.

Beautiful, happy, smart little Harper is not much older than my own girl. It broke my heart to know how much she has been through at such a young age, and the stress and worry her parents had and still have to live with. I wanted to give them photos that celebrate the strength, love and joy in their family, and all the little moments we can never take for granted. And for Harper to one day see just how smitten her sweet parents are with her!

If you’d like to read more about Harper’s story, visit the TGHP website, and please share their info with any families you may know who have a child fighting cancer. I hope one day pediatric cancer will be a thing of the past. Until then, I will continue to volunteer and photograph these brave children and their families right here on Maui.
